December in Ghana is always a sight to behold and with this year's lineup of events, this December will certainly be no different. Though there is a list of OVER 300 events taking place in and around Accra this season, this guide narrows the intimidating list to a handful of BANGERS that you should absolutely attend! NO 1: AFROCHELLA (AFROFUTURE)
📅27th - 28th December 2022
📍El Wak Sports Stadium
Is it really December in Accra without the mention of Afrochella (Now Afrofuture)? Afrochella is an Experience and a Celebration of all facets of our African‑ness. This year, Afrochella will be headlined by Burna Boy and Stonebwoy. For this reason, Afrochella has decided to bless us with an additional day of culture and vibes meaning you have no real excuse to miss it.
NO. 2: AFRONATION
📅29th - 30th December 2022
📍Laboma Beach
Afronation is back to try their hands at hosting their globally recognized event in Ghana again. With this, we expect them to deliver a top tier event that leaves a lasting mark and shows that they are not here to play. With the likes of Meek Mills, Rema, Tiwa Savage and more slated to perform, this could easily be the biggest event of the season with decent organization.
NO. 3: BLACK STAR LINE FESTIVAL

📍Black Star Square
A FREE concert with some of the heaviest names in the Industry? Yes Please!!! You don't know true Accra Madness till you've experienced an inexpensive event at a huge venue. With the likes of Chance the Rapper, T-Pain, Sarkodie and other globally recognized stars, I recommend that you come with a life vest and other Survival Kit items because you might need them.
NO. 4: WILDALAND

📍Shai Forest Reserve
The Wildaland Festival is a refreshing and creative 2‑day break from the Hustle & Bustle of Accra. Let's make some memories in the Shai Forest while we vibe out with this A‑list Line‑up of performers.
NO. 5: WIZKID LIVE
📅 10th December 22
📍Accra Sports Stadium
As the first major concert of the season this year, the WizKid concert will be the season opener for this Detty December as Cardi B's concert was last year. Though the advertising has not been as thorough and the ticket prices appear too high for a concert at the Accra Sports Stadium, there is still high anticipation because WizKid is the main attraction for the day. With his lineup of hits, the event should be memorable.
NO. 6: DETTY RAVE WITH MR. EAZI

📍Untamed Empire
Mr. Eazi hosted a yearly rave in Accra then took a break. Now he's back again with one of our favorite December events. This year, with his "Road to Detty Rave" events that were had on university campuses, the hype for the event is at an all-time high and we are expecting the same fantastic quality that Mr. Eazi delivered to us pre-COVID.
NO. 7: RAPPERHOLIC X CONCERT

📍Grand Arena
Sarkodie has gifted us a Rapperholic concert every 25th December since 2011. It's so well crafted, you don't need to be a Sark-native to enjoy it thoroughly. The consistency and familiarity has now molded the event into one of the best December has to offer. In fact the only thing that changes now is the ticket price. Everything else remains the same.
NO. 8: FREEDOM WAVE CONCERT

📍Accra Sports Stadium
Another annual banger that we can count on to deliver an amazing show worth attending, our Dance hall King Inna the whole Ghana is cooking up something special for the Shatta movement and beyond this Christmas. We all know how hyped Shatta concerts get; dress to dance.
NO. 9: BHIM CONCERT
📅23rd December 2022
📍The Grand Arena
Another hot event that is now a yearly event to look forward to, Stonebwoy shines us a Bhim of Hope every December now. If you know anything about Stonebwoy and his history of hits, you will not sleep on this.
NO. 10: MOZAMA DISCO GENESIS CONCERT
📅21st December 22
📍UppFest (La Palm)
Fairly new in the list of Detty December usuals but still a globally familiar face, Black Sherif will be having his first ever Detty December concert for Ghanaians this December. Though Kwaku the Traveller may have travelled all over the world with his catchy tunes, he has partnered with Mozama Disco to show us why the world loves him.
NO 11: PrROMISELAND CONCERT

📍La Palm Beach Hotel
King Promise is wrapping up his Promise Land tour with a final homecoming concert this December here in Accra and it's Promising to be lit!
NO. 12: AROUND THE WORLD FEST
📅 25th ‑ 26th December 22
📍Accra Polo Court
This year, the Around-The-World fest intends to incorporate charitable initiatives with some of our biggest local stars lika Danc God Lloyd, SDK, Wesley Kesse and more in the days leading up to the highly anticipated annual event. The Around The World Fest agenda includes 2 days of mini activities where diverse FOOD, culture and music interact in unique ways to bring out the intended worldly feel, as well as a major concert of some of our favorite artists to punctuate the end of the festivities. If last year is anything to go by, this should be a well planned event.
NO. 13: GARAGE
From the Concert‑Style events, we progress to the venues that will keep giving this Christmas, starting with Garage Lounge. Garage doesn't know how to joke and they are simply not playing this season. They have several great moves lined up for us including a concert with Joe Boy on Christmas Day:
NO. 14: FRONTBACK
All year FrontBack has served us seeeerious vibes: why on earth did you think they will stop now? They have you covered almost every day with their successful midnight Brunches with Culture Curations Amapiano & Brunch event and many more.
NO. 15: ALLEY BAR
AlleyBar should be on everyone's Top 10 list of spaces to hang out because Alley is just pure vibes all day everyday! This season they will surely continue to give us life and we can't wait! They may not have a lot of new events for this specific season but the events they give us all year are Detty December worthy anyway.
NO. 16: BLOOM BAR
Everyone knows t'is the szn to BloomBar and we shall Bloom everyday indeed. However here are some of the days to watch out for Bloom this season!!!

NO. 18: POLO BEACH CLUB
The Polo Beach Club (PBC) has proven itself over and over again as a venue for events loaded with enjoyment and energy, and this year will be no different. And just like last year, PBC will be set up at the Labadi Beach Hotel from 26th December to 2nd January
NO. 19: OLIVER TWIST SHACK
In the true OT turn‑up fashion, Christmas started earlyyyyyyyyy! As in, things have been getting Detty since early in November and they will keep being Detty till January with the lineup they have curated for us this season. Don't forget to join them on the 1st of Janary 2023 for the biggest Charity event of the season.
NO. 20: AKWAABA UK
Akwaaba UK has been coming from the UK annually to set up some of the most memorable December events and this year is no different. They will be partnering with Pitch, Garage, VISA, Bloom Bar and more to bring us some must-attend events this season.
