📍Labone
💵 GHC0 - GHC200 (Depending on who you know)
📅 Fri - Sun

Twist Nightclub is one of Ghana’s most iconic nightspots, known for blending old-school charm with contemporary flair. Though it no longer stands at the helm of Ghanas nightlife culture, its talented resident DJs and their well-curated music selection make it a must-visit for anyone seeking a quintessential Ghanaian clubbing experience. At the peak of Detty December in Accra over, gaining entry to Twist Nightclub was a venture dictated by the discerning eye of the infamous FM—a popular bouncer who unintentionally doubled as a nightlife fashion arbiter for over a decade. Twist's biggest asset at the time, FM's determined access to the exclusive nightclub. His opinion became a stamp of approval, symbolizing not only access to Twist but also confirming that you exuded undeniable allure and class. Thus the gates of Twist catalyzed a stylistic revolution, compelling individuals to put extra effort into their appearance when stepping out in Accra. This outwardly discriminative practice, while setting a standard for glamour, also prompted other establishments to recognize the allure of an attractive clientele. The stringent dress code, acting as a barrier to entry, attracted not only the local elite but also notable personalities on a global scale. Twist was a constant feature in the top 3 clubs in Accra for well over a decade, and its iconic status still holds up to this day. In its hay days, Twist was the only venue where locals could go to view an endless rotation of global celebrities. Twist Nightclub was also renowned for its high-energy parties, celebrity guest appearances, and vibrant crowd. Though that status appears to have mellowed in the last 4 years, Twist now offers a calm and less packed gatherings that attract those who want an intimate nightlife experience.
As we have seen, Accra’s nightlife scene is as dynamic and diverse as the city itself. Though this list only highlights establishments that can be categorized as traditional nightclubs, the above clubs offer more than just loud music. They also provide a space for social interaction and entertainment. Whether you’re looking to rub shoulders with Accra's elite or you're looking to get down and dirty with your friends, Accra’s clubs have something for everyone. From the glitzy VIP lounges of ACE and MAD Club to the underground vibes of 11.02 and the youthful energy of Play Club, these top 10 nightclubs have their unique charms and offer a range of experiences that cater to different tastes and preferences. We urge you to experience them yourselves.
