We are all choral warriors in the privacy of our showers, but very few of us have what it takes to display our vocal prowess in public. However, there are a number of places to show off your raw musical talent or punish your non-deaf enemies while having a raging good time; and unlike talent shows, your performance will face little to no judgement. Here are our Accra Events GH Top 5 Karaoke events in Accra.
1: TUESDAY KARAOKE

Currently the longest standing karaoke night event in Accra, Tuesday Karaoke Nights at Republic Bar are a staple of Accra's weekly nightlife scene. The ability to cause such chaos and action before the middle of the week adds to the appeal of Karaoke at Republic. Hosted by the energetic MC LLBJ alongside supporting musical mixing talents DJ J-Voe, DJ Yo-Yo and DJ Slybeats, it's no surprise that even on rainy days, the streets of Republic Bar overflow with local and foreign patrons alike. Apart from the fun-filled, low-pressure vibes provided by this event, Republic Bar also serves some of the best liquid courage in the form of their signature Ginger Shots and Kokrokoo Cocktail Slushies, which ensure that participants feel comfortable singing their hearts out, and listeners lose sight in their left ear thus appreciating all performances.
2: KARAOKE SATURDAYS

🎤 Karaoke Kings
The second most gratifying Karaoke Event in Accra is the Karaoke event at The Honeysuckle Pub (ANC) every Saturday. Though currently hosted by the Karaoke Kings crew and led by Jojo Stone (Joseph Stone), this stellar Karaoke Night was initiated by Karaoke Kings founder Jonny Stone. This Karaoke event at Honeysuckle, like most events on this list, even withstood the test of COVID-19. Karaoke Nights at ANC draw a young and vibrant crowd from the neighboring universities and beyond, who keep spirits high albeit keeping pressure and expectations low. While the Karaoke portion of the event winds down around 11PM, the night stays energized till 2AM with the insane, sweat-inducing, fire-starting and commotion-causing antics of DJ Endwd.
3: KARAOKE WITH THE STARS
📍 Noire Lounge (East Legon)

🎤 Celebrity Guest Hosts
Sunday Karaoke with the Stars at Noire Lounge (formerly Kikibees) keeps things fresh and alluring every week with varying celebrity hosts. With likes of Kelvyn Boy, Lasmid, Epixode, Kofi Jamar, Wesley Kesse, Camidoh and more, Karaoke at Noire Lounge stays interesting and relevant. In more recent months, Noire Lounge has partnered with Metro TV to include a Sing & Win segment to their Karaoke nights where participants stand to win prizes for outstanding performances. This means pressure may not be as low as the aforementioned Karaoke nights on this list, but implies that Sunday Night Karaoke is a Celebrity guided talent show to behold!
4: MAKOSA KARAOKE

🎤 Karaoke Kings
The fourth event on our Top 5 list and the second Karaoke Event on our Top 5 list hosted by the Karaoke Kings team, Makosa Karaoke night draws an elite venn diagram of sports lovers, beer drinkers and brave singers. This event is usually run by the founder of Karaoke Kings himself, Jonny Stone (Jonathan Stone) and his younger brother Jacob Stone; and lives up to the hype of most of Jonny's other events. The captivating event pulls crowds in early then transforms into a jam session with DJ Loft that lasts till after midnight.
5: KARAOKE & GAME NIGHT

🎤 Yvonne Taina Martey
Since its inception in 2021 by MC and event host, Yvonne Martey, Karaoke nights at Elites Bar have only grown in popularity. This is the only karaoke event with both fan-favorite music and games. The unique Karaoke event tests vocal chords and gaming abilities, with an array of digital and physical games for patrons to engage in while waiting for their turn to display their talents or lack thereof. The intimate outdoor setting gives the event a cozy and comfortable feel while the funny, friendly and fiery hostess adds a touch of warmth and encouragement while keeping the crowd engaged. This Karaoke night is the only Karaoke event on our top 5 list where you can simultaneously play FIFA, Uno, Jenga and other popular games. There is more than enough going on to keep all patrons interested and active.
While the above events are currently killing the game, it'd be irresponsible not to shout out the OG's of Accra Karaoke Nights, Champs Bar. There are a few other smaller and past karaoke events we thoroughly enjoyed like The Woods on Tuesdays, Oliver Twist Shack on Wednesdays, Starbites at Nester Square and Potbelly Shack on Thursdays etc. and while we surely hope they return, we appreciate these top 5 for holding us down and giving us some diversity in things to do in Accra.
